Update

This week has been a busy one for me, lots of new things going on!  I have finalized what kind of albums I'm going to offer, and I'm pretty excited about these!  I'm working on some samples right now, so ask me at your next session if you can see what's new!  I'm also getting ready to introduce a beautiful line of image jewelry, just in time for Mother's Day!  These are very classy pieces that any woman would love.  I will be presenting these new products when I kick off my "Celebrate You!" series later next month, so stay tuned!

I also decided to begin sending out newsletters within the next month or 2, so if you would like to receive emails about updates for the business, and new promotions coming up, drop me an email at keri@kerischmidtphotography.com, and I will make sure you receive the newsletter!  These will be sent via email.  That way I can keep doing more personal stuff through my blog, but get the important stuff to my clients as well!

I suppose I better post a photo while I'm on, so here is another from the other morning.

MIA

Wow, I knew I missed a few days on my blog, but it's been a whole week since I've posted!  I've been pretty bummed about the weather and not much new going on around here.  We had an event cancelled, due to weather, which stunk.  We have now cancelled our trip to a conference, due to the weather.  I haven't been out too much, due to the weather.  Can you tell I'm way ready for it to warm up around here??

I still have snow images to share, but isn't everyone getting tired of looking at this snow stuff?  Here is one of Jeremy that I took while playing with our studio lights the other night.  I posted one of him a couple weeks ago, but that was "Work Jeremy."  So, here is one of "Cleaned up Jeremy."  He works with hundreds of college girls, there is a reason he has different looks for work and for me!  Quite a difference from his first pic, huh?  I used texture on this one, just for fun.

Few more from the flock

and then I'm done posting about them, I promise.

My parents take care of about hundred some sheep, and last month they were all due to start lambing.  It seems to be another big year for sets of quads, triplets, twins, so there are sheep all over the farm!

When a ewe has multiple lambs, many times my parents will have to supplement one or three with baby bottles.  This one got the sheep suite located in their living room, since it's about half the size of his siblings.  When it's very cold out, and the lambs are this tiny, they have a harder time surviving the elements of the weather, even in the barn, so they get a warm and cozy spot reserved for them, in the house!

It's been such a cold time for these poor lambs, and it seems the colder it is, the more lambs my parents end up taking care of.  This poor little guy had frostbite on his ears shortly after he was born.  Although most of them are born in the barn, some of them are born prematurely outside.  He seems quite content inside the barn now, and he's doing very well.

While I could never do this as a full time job, I love going to the farm during lambing season, and witnessing the births and the bond between the ewes and the lambs.  It is a lot of hard work, but it's also a pretty unique experience.  I think my parents are amazing people for doing what they do!

Friends

Jeremy and I came upon some cardinals the other day, about the same spot I found them the first time.  This time they had friends with them, and once again, this was the closest I could get without scaring them away.

Yes we Can

Someone posted this on a forum I'm on.  It's a pretty moving video, and I don't think it matters which side you're on, or who you want for president.  Check it out.

New Lights

Here is one of the images using our new lighting kit.  Not too bad for just winging it!  Jeremy had to be my model, but he looks like a burly man!  I'll have to try for another of him after he shaves!  We also needed a hairlight on him, since his hair color is the color of the backdrop, but we discovered our little living room is just too small for our setup.  It's either time to find studio space, or start knocking out walls in our house!
