Update

No images to show today, but I've had a lot going on the past couple days!

I got some studio lighting today, so hopefully I'll get those figured out and I'll post something new to show off my new equipment!  I'm a little scared stepping into the lighting world, but Jeremy is my tech guy and he's already learning more than I can handle, so one of us will have it mastered before too long!

My other exciting news is that we are going to a conference in March. . . in South Carolina!  Really, I'm just happy to be going south!  There is talk of us never coming back, so if you don't see any posts on my blog in March, assume we never returned.  Just kidding, Mom!  We will have to come back for our cats, I guess!

I'm off to go play with my new toys. . . .

Update. . .

I've been busy with getting my taxes together, updating my sites, and just getting everything ready for the new year.  I've been also working on my new series called "Celebrate You."  It is a new little project I'll have going for this year.  If you would like to be on the mailing list to find out what I'm up to with my new series, please email me your address!  I will hopefully have information to send out by the end of this week!

I've also been working on a few images for my friend.  Her grandfather passed earlier this month, and even though I never got the chance to talk with him, I've heard so many beautiful stories about this man.  While they were at the farm, she shot this image of this tractor and flag, with the farm buildings in the background.  He was a farmer and a veteren, so this image is pretty heart-tugging for me.  Nicolle said it was ok to share this image on here, as I know a few people who love those old tractor pics- Karen, I thought of you when I saw this!  Once again, these were taken by Nicolle herself.  I cannot take credit for them!  She was my photog buddy in high school, and I hope to work with her again someday!!

Defrost

This is the door to the garage.  We haven't been able to see outside that window since December, but today was warm enough to start thawing it out.  I thought the design it made was kind of cool!

Still a bad case of cabin fever.

My mother tells me that I should get lost in a book.  She's right, I haven't read much of anything since summer, and what's a better way to spend the winter months than curled up with a good book.  I picked up the book my sis got me last year for my birthday.  Skin by Ted Dekker.  He's my favorite author right now.  I've read all his work, but his last couple novels, so it's time to get going on that.  When I picked up the book to start a day of reading, I quickly lost focus on the book, and started focusing on the way the light was hitting the book.  So, I ran and got my camera. . . . .

This is one of the many I got of this book.  Who knew that a book could have so many interesting angles?  Now I'm going to go attempt to just READ and not look at anything but the words!

No title.

I guess I'm not the only one getting a cabin fever.  Our cat, Mo, has lost his mind!  I opened the shade on my office window this morning, and he ran into the room, and jump right into the window!  SMACK!  I guess he's thinking it's time to have the windows open.

So I started going through my scrapbooking stuff.  I haven't worked on anything for almost a year now, and I still have no desire to work on it.  I just have so much stuff.  Way too much.  It's overwhelming to me, and I don't even know what I have anymore!  I'm thinking of selling it all off, but it's like a part of me I can't quite get rid of yet.  I scrapbooked for almost 10 years.  Man, I really have a lot of stuff.

The snow is getting to me.

It's here.  That time of the year that I decide we must move in the next week or I will lose my mind.  That time of the season when I don't think I can take anymore ice, snow, wind, or anything winter related.  I begin cursing at the weather people, and that becomes the highlight of the day because I have been stuck in the house for TOO LONG now!  Enough whining, here is a little hint of spring, of what we have to look forward to!  That is, if I survive the rest of winter!

One more snow photo.

I love the tree in the background in this image!  The bridge was supposed to be the main focus, but I love the color of the leaves against the white background!

Snow Angel

I got some shots yesterday, after we had a beautiful snowfall the night before.  The roads were still pretty icky, so I stuck to staying in town and I went to the cemetary to get a few shots.  It was almost too cold to be out there, my fingers got so numb I couldn't use the buttons on my camera after a while!  I love the angel statue I got, she looked so serene in the snow.  The other photo wasn't too exciting, so played around and added some texture to it, to give it a much different feeling from the angel!

I have also been busy updating my website.  I have new images on there, but I'm still tweaking with it, so make sure to check back!

For anyone who won anything from the Christmas sale, you will be mailed your coupons today, so be watching for those!  Lots of great prizes were given away!

New Links

Check out the links on the right side of this page!  I've added some fellow photographers and there is some AMAZING talent on those sites!  Now ya'll can see where I get some of the inspiration from!  I would suggest you wait until you have a few hours before browsing, though.  You'll get lost in the photos, and before you know it, the whole day will be gone!  Hope ya'll enjoy the sites!

After a Nap

This beautiful little girl has the most gorgeous eye lashes!  If you have been following my posts, she is the same one I posted when I first started my blog last summer!  These were shot just on a whim, right after her nap.  Not only do I love her eyelashes in these photos, I love the way the sun hit her hair!  Doesn't she look almost angelic??
