Yesterday was probably the hottest session I've ever done. Literally.
We had a heat index of don't-stand-outside-or-you-will-boil degrees,
but Sydni was a trooper and was still able put a smile on and look
great while doing so! She is a beautiful gal who was easy to
photograph. I had a wonderful time getting to know her and working
with her. Sydni, thanks for suffering through that sweltering heat
yesterday with me. I think it was worth it, I hope you did, too!
A couple weeks ago, Jeremy and I spent a week taking care of our dear friends' kids while they enjoyed vacation in another country. We tried to capture a little of everyday to show their parents when they got home. We invited the neighbors over for a little fashion shoot as well, so I still have yet to go through the rest of the couple hundred images we got from that week, so here's a couple of the girls when they were modeling for me. Jeremy will post a couple he got from the week, too!
A big thanks to Danielle for getting us involved with this years Walk Now for Autism! Danielle is the co-chairperson for Iowa division of the walk, and is widely involved in the autistic community. We are grateful to have the opportunity to help raise money and awareness for the cause, and are so happy she asked us to participate this year!
Danielle found me through her work, as she and her husband are my dentists! If you are looking for a dentist in the Central Iowa area, I would highly recommend calling their office, or go to www.sharpedental.com. If you are looking for just a cleaning, they have the greatest hygienists as well, I wouldn't go anywhere else!
For more information on the walk, go to www.walknowforautism.org.
Today was a beautiful day to photograph, and Jeremy and I enjoyed the weather with Kyle and Emily at the Ledges Park in Boone. They were so much fun to work with, we are really looking forward to shooting their wedding day in September! This will be our first outdoor wedding, and we have such an awesome couple to photograph!
Today Jeremy and I photographed teams for the Autism Walk held in Des Moines, Iowa. The day started out rainy and COLD! Everything was pretty sloshy by the time we were setting up, but it turned out to a pretty nice day, and everyone seemed happy that it wasn't hot. This was the first year helping out with the walk, and we had lots of fun being a part of the event! I'm still working on team photos, but I'll post one Jeremy shot of the crowd just before the walk began.
I will be technically out of the office from June 1st through June 8th, as I will be hanging out with a couple of my very good little friends for the week. I say technically because I will not be gone, but I will be preoccupied for a bit! During this time, there will be no orders processed or sessions done. If you need to contact me for any reason, I will still be answering my phone and emails, it might just take me a little longer than normal to reply back, so please be patient with me. Also, if you have an order being processed right now that will be ready next week, I will still get the order to you, I just might have my friends in tow with me!
Over the weekend I assisted with a wedding from Saturday. The ceremony was in a church in downtown Ames, and it was just a gorgeous old church! Below is an image of the church, and after playing around with it, I loved how the photo looked as old as the church!
I will also post a couple random images on Jeremy's blog later, as I've had a few of his admirers asking to see more from him. That's my fault, I don't share my computer much with him!
Last week I finally put up some samples of my work at Tangles Salon in Nevada. Julie and Theresa were lovely enough to offer me space to display some gallery wraps. If you are in the area, make sure to stop by and check it out. . . you just might be one of the ones featured!
For an appointment call 382-6411. These two also are consultants for Arbonne, a skin care line that I also adore, so if you are just shopping for great makeup, stop by and check them out as well!
